The challenge issued by Andrea this week was to make a layout using this photo

as your inspiration.

Juice

Not the kind you drink. Actually, its not really juice at all. His name is Mike and he is the husband of my great friend Tiffany. My sweet little son decided when he was 2 that he was going to call Mike "JUICE" nothing else would do. I was so stoked when I found this picture of the 2 of them so I could capture the memory. Braylon was so excited to hear the guitar through the headphones!

Scrapping Fun

I have really enjoyed having my room clean so I could sit at my table and just create! I got three more layouts completed this weekend. This one holds a special place in my heart because this is when my Grandfather got to meet my youngest daughter. This is such a wonderful thing because my dear dear Grandfather has Dementia and has the beginnings of Alzheimers. Somedays he doesn't even know who I am and living 12 hours away doesn't help things at all. (he believes regularly that my oldest DD is me because she looks so much like I did at her age) These pics are from Easter 2009.

Something Old into Something New

Gabby (my oldest DD shown in yesterdays post ;) brought me a clipboard from her room and said "Mom can you *fix* this for me into something pretty?" I was touched that she enjoys my work so much that she wanted me to *fix* it for her. I started looking for the perfect items to use on it and make it personal for her. I wanted to paint the background because it had been drawn on, had REALLY old scotch tape, etc. I looked through my scrap arsenal and was discouraged because I didn't think I had any green paint, when a lightbulb when off and I realized (TOTAL DUH MOMENT) that I had acrylic paint daubers from Ranger and that Lettuce would be the perfect color.

I tried to "dab" it on and that was a no-go so I poured some onto my non stick craft mat and started to paint (I really enjoy the Claudine Hellmuth paintbrushes), then had another "AHA" moment and remembered to take a before picture. There is a bit of paint on it but thats ok. You can still see the drawings though LOL.

After covering with paint I cover with some paper from My Little Shoebox. I punched around the edges with my Martha Stewart punches as well. The letter stickers are from My Little Shoebox as well.

At the top of the clipboard I attached a rose made out of grungepaper then covered in Bubblegum Glimmermist. It is so shimmery! Tie a black bow on and it is ready to go!

Gabby was extremely happy with the results!

My Scraproom

Even after griping that my dear husband was insistant on me cleaning up my space, I am so glad I did!! (I will NOT be showing the before pictures) I wanted to get some shots of it before it ended up a mess again. I really enjoy having the two tables to work on. One for my "messy" stuff such as sprays and paints, and one for the not so messy stuff such as cutting paper (I have super large self healing Making Memories cutting mat on that table) My messy table also hosts a Ranger non-stick crafting mat which is one of the bestest crafting items EVER.

Whichever table I am sitting at I have plenty of supplies within reach and enjoy turning on my stereo and enjoying the blissful peace. It also has a door to the outside which I love when the weather is nice because I can leave the door open and slide open the screen for some fresh air and natural light.
