I am SO EXCITED!

I have been chosen as November's Guest Designer at Memorable Season's I got the message from Detta and couldn't believe it! MS is my favorite scrappy store. Jill offers the newest products and is always willing to special order things that are requested. There is always some great deals and she frequently has sales! Even on BRAND NEW product! If you haven't checked it out you definitely should! There is also a referral system in place as well so if you go tell her Jessica sent you! (if you refer someone she will give you a 20% off coupon code, how cool is that??)

Stamptoberfest 2009

Over at 2Peas there is a fabulous event going on called Stamptoberfest. There are tons of challenges to get those stamps out and use them. Why not join me over there thru the weekend? I have already gotten a few cards made and have plans to make a couple more before the end of the event.

October?? Where did September go?

I can't believe that September came and went and I completely dropped the ball on blogging all month. OOPS. Maybe it was school going full swing, maybe it was the girls starting volleyball, maybe it was Gabby starting dance classes, or maybe just maybe it was because my DH lost his job. Yep thats probably it. Things have to go back up from here though. You always feel so compassionate when you hear about someone losing their job and think it can't happen to you. When it does the reality that sets in is TOUGH.

I am on vacation from work this week so that is definitely a plus! I have no plans (I tried to go to Disney but no one would give me tickets LOL)

I did get some scrapping done in the last couple weeks especially participating in the online crop held at Memorable Seasons. Here is my fav from the event:

Gotta go back, back, back to school again!!

WOOHOO!!! The kiddos are back in school! (just kidding, well kinda) Actually I have missed the girls like crazy over the summer so I am glad to have them home. It only took 2 days for me to be ready for them to go to school though. In 4th grade here they get to change classes during the day so that is something new and exciting for them. I am happy to have them well adjusted and prepared for the new year. Madi is growing like a weed and Braylon is still Mama's boy.

Construction Season

I have been participating in the Construction Season challenge that Carmen is hosting over at Willow Traders. She is an awesome hostess with the way she has styled it that we can create ANYTHING!! We can do anything crafty and just have to put in how long we are going to work on it! FAB!! Here's a couple of my projects!

Off? On a Monday?

Wow! It feels crazy to be home during the day on Monday! My day is normally filled with approving payroll, contacting customers, profit projections, charge off calculations, profit improvement plans, marketing plans, conference calls, and all the regular banking transactions that come along. Instead I am home watching the "Magic Schoolbus" (although that is definitely NOT the highlight of my day Braylon does enjoy it!) The bank is being audited tomorrow so my normal Tuesday off will be filled with loads of fun!

Oh well, I am going to make the most of today anyway. Have some cleaning and laundry to catch up on. I am also going to finish the gear album I have been working on with my Grease Monkey collection from BoBunny that was in my project kit from LPS. I have been messing with it for so long so I can achieve the look I want with ribbon coming out from all angles, with tags behind all the pics. I painted it with Maya Mist which is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I will get the pics posted sometime this week! WOOHOO it feels so good when things get finished!

Bad Girls are having a birthday!

Speaking of birthdays... mine is in 3 weeks so I am hoping my DH will take a hint and buy me one of these amazing kits!! This one is one of my favorites from February. Look at all that yummy goodness waiting for someone to just dig in! The thing I love about the Bad Girls kits the most is the way Wendy has classes to help you use what you bought. You don't just buy all the mediums and have to idea what to do with them LOL... We have all done it and it is no fun to have goodies sitting there and the HUH? that you get when you look at them. Everything but the kitchen sink??

I saw this on the Core'dinations blog and my first thought was huh?? what does the kitchen sink have to do with my favorite cardstock LOL! After reading I discovered it was actually a challenge to use something other that a "normal" (whats normal anyway?) scrappy supply to showcase the awesome things that you can do with the cardstock like no other. In my layout I created a background paper with circles by using an old jar top. Pretty cool huh? You can sand, tear, emboss... the possibilities are endless with this colored core cardstock!

Over at Tattered Angels they are changing the labeling on Glimmer Mists. They are going to look like the bottles in the photo so keep it in mind when shopping for your favorite colors (mine is Watermelon YUMMM)

Wild Card

Who can resist a dare??

Especially when it involves glitter and shimmer! Over at the Shimmerz blog they have a new Tuesday "challenge". Well actually a DARE and who backs down from a dare? Certainly not me! This week was to use Shimmerz on a frame! This frame has ROYAL PURPLE shimmerz covering the Dream Street patterned paper that I used. I also used the same purple shimmerz on the tips of the flower. I am pleased with the way it turned out and will put a pic of my sweet Madi in it!

Day #5

So today is day #5 that I have spent at least 1/2 the day at home due to the dang strep throat that is going around. Monday I left work to go to the Dr's office who didn't believe I was sick until the test results came back positive (I have actually had it for over a month since going to FL in April). Tuesday was my scheduled day off. Wednesday I headed back to work still feeling crappy but on medication and going anyway. About 1 the phone rings and its the sitter, Madi is sick too. UGH! Fever over 100 and she won't eat a thing. Back to the Dr's office and she wrote me out until Saturday. It would be nice to be off if everyone was well but that's not the case so we are just hanging in.

Yep that's a WOOHOO! I broke into another kit. I made this layout with the February kit from Scrapbook Circle one of the kits I won during Willow Traders Walopalooza. I absoluty LOVE the Fancy Pants paper!

Flip Flops Womanly?

Yep, I was completing a challenge over at WT put on by LPS and is wanted you to complete a layout based on something that makes you feel like a woman. My flip flops are a necessity of life. I wear them whenever possible and the fact the my painted pink toes can be displayed makes me feel so girly! I very seldom take the time to fuss with makeup or my hair so the pink touch on my toes is a guilty pleasure of mine! LO made with my kit from The Scrapping Spot! It is to die for!

New fav LO

I just had to add one more post so I could put up this pick of one of my new favorite layouts! I used new BG Urban Prairie and some really old pics of my daughter (she's 9 now so what does that tell you?) I love these though and had never had just the right "stuff" to use. I am thrilled with the way it turned out though! It was inspired by a LO done by Julie over on The Scrapping Spot design team!

Out of comfort zone

I was definitely out of my comfort zone on this one. Not only did I scrap 9x9 instead of 12x12. I went monochromatic with a blue scheme and bling and flowers for a pic of my husband.

Week 4 LO

Here's my LO for week 4 at LPS. This week was to put up a LO of someone/something that you would miss most while gone. Mine is about my oldest daughter. I miss her being little! She is growing into an amazing young lady but it is still super hard to watch her grow!

Hardest job ever...

Being a mom is the hardest job I have ever had! I wouldn't trade it for anything but WOW it can really wear you down in a day. Madi, my youngest has had a fever on and off since Monday... go to the dr today to hear "Look's like you are getting over strep throat" BLECH! Poor thing is to small to tell me something is wrong and has been such a sweet loving sick child. I really feel for her. I was able to get caught up on all the laundry around here along with straightening up the house overall. I even got some scrapping done last night and finished my entry for the sketch challenge over at LPS. I will post it here as soon as the voting is done as it is a blind vote. I am REALLY pleased with the way it turned out! (to use so many "girly" papers for boy pics was a challenge for me) ... Getting ready to go play poker... have to head back to work in the morning cause Jason will be off to stay home with Madi. UGH...

Jan LPS pink ticket entry

A wedding layout entered using my "pink" ticket (which is actually a Tim Holtz ticket with no pink LOL) received in my Jan kit.

Even though it didn't get any votes I am still very happy with the lo of my son. *go blue are sacred words heard around my house with my husband being a die-hard Michigan fan! This does feature the Jan LPS kit and I hand cut the football and added brown flock for texture.

A Fresh Start

Starting out in 2009 I was determined to get loads of scrappin done and not just collect the supplies. I love supplies... I really do. Sometimes I just want to go and sit in my room and look at them. Yeah weird I know but it makes me happy! I cannot believe what I have actually gotten accomplished so far. Being a busy working mom I used to not take the time for my passion but have realized it is so worth it! My husband and I bought a house in September (it was a nightmare process with all the changes that were going on but that is a completely different story!) so I have a whole room that I can devote to my scrappy things and peace and quiet (except for the jammin on my ipod). Will post some pics of my space soon!
